76, of Alexander, Ark., passed away in his sleep during the early morning of Thursday, February 17, 2022, at his home. He was in the presence of his wife, daughter, and son-inlaw at his death. His passing followed a brief stay in the hospital where he had been being treated for cancer. He was born to the late, Bill and Eva Steele, on Sunday, June 3, 1945, in Lepanto, Ark.

Carroll was a wonderful person; kind to his neighbors, gentle and devoted to his family, highly regarded by his friends and generous toward those in need. He had a varied career as manager of a department store, a grocer, and a route salesman for Frito-Lay, Keebler, and Little Debbie. He retired from public work at 72 and has since kept busy working in his yard and shop, helping his grandchild­ren and enjoying the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Eva Steele, and three brothers, Donny, Ronny, Jerry.

Carroll is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Carlile Steele; his daughter Terri Lynn Steele Butler (Kyle); three grandchild­ren, Colton Butler (Abigail), Cody Butler (Kaylee), and Cheyenne Swede (Cole); two great- grandchild­ren, Brooks and Corbin; two sisters, Pat Kipp and Sue Eaker; one sister-in-law, Ann Steele; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who all love him and will miss him dearly.

Celebratio­n of life will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 Visitation at 10:00 A.M. and service at 11:00 A.M at Highway Church Of Christ in Benton, Arkansas.
