WARD — Martha Frances Evianiak,

-

81, of Ward, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 with family members by her side. She lived in two different Centuries and in two different Millennia.

She was born February 22, 1941 in North Little Rock to the late Edward Ladie Isom and Cal Dona McElyea Isom. Martha is a graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock. In the spring of 1957, while working at a local movie theater in Little Rock serving candy at the candy stand, during one of those movies she caught the eye of her soul mate, Joseph. They dated for three years, before Joseph asked her for her hand in marriage at her house.

On July 3, 1960, Martha married Joseph Evianiak at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock at a High Mass. To everyone’s surprise, the Priest announced to the congregation that a special event was to take place and requested to remain seated. The wedding march surprised everyone as Martha walked down the aisle to her beloved Joseph. The ceremony permitted her brother Charles, a Marine, to be present before deploying overseas.

Upon marrying, she became a devoted military wife and supported Joseph throughout their 25 year Air Force career to several duty stations in the United States. She solely maintained the household while he was stationed abroad. During the multiple station changes, Martha also supported her children’s extracurricular activities such as Girl Scouts. She held the status of troop leader for multiple troops throughout her Girl Scouts career.

Upon retiring to Cabot, she continued her Girl Scout support by becoming the Area Unit Leader for the Cabot region. Martha also joined the Extension Homemakers Club Lonoke Chapter. She loved visiting with her fellow Extension colleagues while doing crafts, creating cookbooks for fund raisers, and supporting the Agri programs.

Martha had several hobbies. She enjoyed reading and collecting cookbooks. Martha also expanded her hobbies into baking and decorating cakes. She became well known for her abilities for creating exceptional wedding and birthday cakes.

She retired from cake decorating to enjoy her time with her family and grandchildren, while relaxing with her husband at home. Martha’s love through the years made for precious memories and special dreams that were the highlights of her wonderful life.

Martha Evianiak is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Joseph Evianiak; their children, Pamela King and Amanda Lenard, both of Cabot, Catherine Fuller of New Braunfels, Texas, Michael Evianiak of Cabot and Keith Evianiak of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Zachary King, Kayla King, Melissa Lenard, Mitchell Lenard, Nathan Lenard, Natalie Lenard and Emily Fuller; great-grandchildren, Ty Bartholmey, Wyatt Lenard, Cameron Fitler, and Cara Barnes; brother, Charles Isom and wife Helen and family of St. Peters, Mo.
