GREENBRIER — George Albert Spurrier,

of Greenbrier, Ark., passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the age of 86. He was born in Pratt, Kansas, July 22, 1935, to the late George T. Spurrier and Cecilia Stegman Spurrier. George was a worker for J.A. Riggs Tractor Company as a diesel mechanic for over 40 years. He enjoyed working on diesel tractors for many years and made many friends over the years. After retirement, he worked for Tom Lindsey, Constructi­on. He loved working on his diesel equipment and prided himself on his work. He served in the United States Army. George was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family. His children, grandchild­ren, and great-grandchild­ren were his world.

George is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, John V. Spurrier and Richard A. Spurrier, and a sister, Mary Zook. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Garrett Spurrier; his daughters, Patricia (David) Cook of Biloxi, Mississipp­i, and Tina (Larry) Hedrick, Marion (David) Sibert and Polly (Chad) Parker all of Greenbrier. Grandchild­ren, Nathan Cook of Biloxi, Mississipp­i; Rocky (Kirsten) Hedrick of Spencer, Massachuse­tts, Jackson (Summer) Hedrick of Memphis, Tennessee; Kennedy (Kyle) Nichols and Alex Parker of Greenbrier; great-grandchild­ren, Braylon Scott (Kennedy/Kyle) and Remy Hedrick (Rocky/Kirsten). Renate Spurrier of Jacksonvil­le, mother of his daughters, Pat and Tina. Larry Spurrier, his cousin of Quitman.

Visitation will be at 10-11 a.m., on March 29, 2022, at Roller-McNutt in Greenbrier. Funeral service will be immediatel­y following. Burial will be at Pearson Cemetery near Wooster, Arkansas.
