QUITMAN — James Patrick “Pat” Sneed,
age 84, of Quitman, Ark., passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Pat was born on April 25, 1937, in Quitman, to Fletcher and Nicey Sneed. Pat was a 1955 graduate of Quitman High School. He married his wife, Ann, of 62 years, in 1960, and together they raised a wonderful family that Pat was so proud of. He was a lifetime member of the Quitman United Methodist Church. Pat was a heavy equipment operator for over 60 years, and was retired from both the Cleburne County Road Department and Alltel. He served in the Arkansas National Guard and was an active duty service member in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in the 1960s. Pat raised and showed appaloosa horses for many years, and was one of the best horse traders in the country. He also raised cattle with his best bud and grandson, Brad. Pat was an avid hunter and will long be remembered by his hunting buddies and friends as “Spotted”, his longtime CB handle. Pat was a true cowboy. He made friends everywhere he went, and will be remembered by all for his kind heart and jovial nature.
Pat is preceded in death by his son, Greg Sneed; parents, Fletcher and Nicey Sneed; brothers, C.M. Sneed and Wallace Sneed; and son-in-law, Mark Seefeld. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Ann” Deese Sneed; daughter, Angie Seefeld; grandchildren, Brad (Ashley) Sneed, Jessica (Phillip) Johnston, Carrie (Sander) Wood, Lyndsay (Grant) Carter, and Cole (Emily) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Kenan, Kensley, and Kanon Sneed, Ellie, Emma, and Beckett Wood, Ann Marie and McCall Carter; sister, Marvell (Lynn) Burford; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Pat’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the wonderful neighbors, friends, relatives, and caregivers who have all taken great care of Pat over the last few years.
