PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Harold Blackwood,

born July 18, 1925, died in Prescott, Arizona, February 17, 2022. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Oliver and Zettie Marie Turner Blackwood; sisters, Ina Rea Gerardi, Martha Sue Farris, Mary Lou McDonald, Frances Gosso; brothers, Oliver Blackwood and Bill J. Blackwood; wife, Bonnie; and son, Jonathan Blackwood. He is survived by son, H. Daniel Blackwood and his wife Patti; son-in-law, Dean Maddalena; granddaugh­ter, McCarthy Hallowell and her husband Nathan; great-grandson, Stewart Cox; and great-granddaugh­ters, Charli and Rylee Hallowell; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold served as navigator of a B-17 in the 8th Air Force in England during World War II, later discharged as a Captain from the Air Force Reserves. He is a graduate of NLR HS. He earned a degree in architectu­re from Oklahoma State University and designed many churches, banks, commercial buildings, medical clinics, schools, and institutio­nal buildings around Arkansas. His last job was as manager of specificat­ions for the New York City Board of Education/School Constructi­on Authority. He served on the NLR City Beautiful Commission, its president for two years. He served on the NLR Handicappe­d Services Board for 16 years, its president for two years. He was a member of Park Hill Presbyteri­an Church.
