SMACKOVER — Katheryn Yvonne Horne,

was born January 22, 1935, on the family farm just east of Wilmot in Ashley County, Ark. She left this life for Heavenly Paradise on March 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She went by her middle name Yvonne, though her sister called her Bo. She went to elementary school at Dry Bayou and then attended Wilmot High School before graduating from Henderson State University. Receiving her degree in education and home economics, she taught school and was married to James Guy Yeager of Bearden, Ark. She lost a daughter, Katheryn Lee at birth. She is predecease­d by her parents, Braxton and Audie McKee, and her loving husband, Karl Horne. Yvonne is survived by her two sons, Kenneth (Brenda) and Jim (Crystal) Yeager. By his first wife, Linda Lamb, Kenneth is father to Lindsey Yeager; Lindsey’s son is, Charter Rain. Jim and Crystal have three children, Sydney (Greg Wright), Braxton (Olivia Yeager), and Kayleigh. Their grandchild­ren by Sydney are, James Merlin and Soraleigh Yeager-Wright. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Mary (Shelby Harrod) and her nephews and their families.

Yvonne loved homemaking, traveling widely, and gardening, taking special care to meticulous­ly manage her yard. She was a member of the Camden Garden Club and by Karl was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A lifelong United Methodist, she worked hard to help beautify her church home, Smackover United Methodist Church, which she loved long after she was able to attend services. An avid reader, she continued to meticulous­ly study the Bible and was a lifelong student of history and culture. One of the highlights of her life was being able to travel to her ancestral homeland of Ireland and the Holy Land. She took great pride of making sure that all of her children and grandchild­ren were well-educated world travelers.
