Mary Louise Burns, was the fourth daughter born to the late Tom and Theora Bruce Burns in Little Rock, Ark., on November 8, 1959. She transition­ed from this life on March 21, 2022, at UAMS. She was the baby of the family and always had her way. Mary attended Watson Chapel High School where she graduated with honors. Mary continued her education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administra­tion. Mary, a member of Stewart Memorial C.M.E. Church served as Church Secretary, a member of the Stewart Board and Church pianist. Mary worked for the Employment Security Department, Dr. Robert Smith, Piney Woods Apartment as Administra­tion Assistant for 17 years. She then went on to work for Cingular, now AT&T in customer service as a Premier Service Consultant; this would have been her 20th anniversar­y.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Theora Burns; and sister, LouCelia D. Courtney. Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories: her son, Thomas (Shacora) Hopkins, sisters, Beverly (John) Lewis and Diane (Cornelious) Burns Collins, aunt, Hazel Richardson, grandchild­ren, LaShonda, Treveon, Tatyana, Dimarkus, Trent, and Dishon, great-grand, Tamarrii, step-grands, Zaylin, Saniah, Ashariye, Lydarious, Makenzie, Aaliyah, Amere; stepgreat-grand, Aiyden, nephew, Roderick, nieces: Millicent, Mary Kaye, Stephanie, Johnetta, and Gabrielle. A host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Friday, April 1, at Stewart Memorial CME, 911 S. Maple.
