CABOT — Bobby Joe Treadway,

age 82, of Cabot, passed from this life on Friday, April 8, 2022, in Cabot. He was born December 22, 1939, in Newark, Ark., to Clint Treadway and Grace (Creswell) Treadway. He grew up in Batesville, Arkansas, and entered the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17, serving for 29 years in Fuels Management and with the IG Team (Inspector General’s Team) from 1980 until 1983. He met his bride at Oklahoma University while stationed at Altus AFB, Oklahoma. After traveling the world, he retired and settled in Cabot, Arkansas. He then worked for the State of Arkansas at the State Hospital in Little Rock for 23 years, retiring at the age of 70. Bobby was a member of the Cabot Church of Christ, where he loved his church and minister, and enjoyed volunteeri­ng to help making deliveries for the food pantry and helping at Friends House. He also was an avid golfer for 52 years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice Treadway; two daughters, Barbara Treadway of Omaha, Nebraska, Connie Treadway of Cabot; two brothers, Clede “Bud” Treadway and wife Lee of Batesville, Harry Treadway and wife Laverne of Batesville; and one sister, Pat Ross and husband Clarence of Ward. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry Don Treadway; one brother, Lynn Treadway; and one sister, Bertha June Perkey.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m., at Cabot Church of Christ. Funeral services are Wednesday at 10 a.m., at Cabot Church of Christ. Interment will be Wednesday, at 1 p.m., at Mt Carmel Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangemen­ts by Smith Westbrook Funeral Home.
