Our hearts are heavy with his absence. George was born December 10, 1953, to Dorothy and Rohaila Johnson Jr. in Ocala, Fla. After graduating from Forest High School in 1971, he went on to study Business and Industry and graduated from Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Fla. George moved to Arkansas in 1979, met his loving wife, Larance McGehee Johnson, and entered holy matrimony on April 29, 1983. In addition to his marriage, he was most proud of his children, Shenika, Shenèe, and George, Jr. He was a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and enjoyed wearing his special designed Alpha caps and his FAMU shirts.

George lived a fulfilling life as a husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, in-law, and friend. He loved taking walks, tending to the yard, watching the news and sports, and spending the holidays with family. In his later years, he grew in his relationship and belief in Christ through studying and listening to the Word of God.
