Betty Jo Glover, 89, of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022. She was born June 26, 1932 in Glendale (Lincoln County) to Fred and Mary Fern Owen Blake.

Betty was reared and educated in Glendale, then attended business school in Pine Bluff. She went to work for the Coca-Cola Company for a short while, then her and her husband were the former owners of Glover IGA. Betty met the love of her life, Alton Glover at Main Street Baptist Church, which moved to Olive Street, and they were the first couple married at the new location. She and Alton then helped in the organizati­on of Broadmoor Baptist Church before returning to Olive Street Baptist Church, which is now known as Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She worked in the church nursery for many years, taking care of not only her grandchild­ren, but many other children as well.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Newell Alton Glover; her infant son; and her sister, Marine Worthen.

Survivors include two sons, Gregory Alton Glover (Cyndy) of Rison, and Steven “Mark” Glover of Pine Bluff; three grandchild­ren, Lauren Rambin (John), Kimberly Glover and Blake Glover (Molly); four great-grandchild­ren, Melody, Riley, Isaac, and Jackson Rambin; three brothers, Vernon Blake of Star City, Billy Fred Blake (Linda) of Jackson, Tenn., and Randy Blake (Nadine) of Pine Bluff; and sister-in-law, Eula Faye England of Little Rock.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Powell and Bro. Jordan Ferris officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery at Woodlawn. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
