88, formerly of North Little Rock, Ark., died June 16, 2022, at The Groves Nursing Home in Independen­ce, Mo., where she resided briefly after living in Kansas City, Mo., with her younger daughter since 2016.

She was born April 13, 1934, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Gerald and Marian Witham. Jane married John E. Jacob in Jackson, Mich., April 24, 1954. They celebrated their 62nd anniversar­y in 2016, a few months before John’s death. They had six children. They were relocated by John’s employment to Chicago, New Jersey, and then in 1968, North Little Rock, Ark. Jane received her LPN certificat­e from St. Vincent’s Infirmary School of Nursing in May 1973, and went on to complete her Registered Nursing Associate of Science Degree in December 1973, via a full academic scholarshi­p. She worked on the Telemetry Step-down Unit at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock until her retirement in 1999. She, along with her late husband, John and daughter, Anne, were Shaklee distributo­rs for more than 40 years.

Jane was a devout Catholic and served as treasurer of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Chapel in Bryant, Ark., for more than 40 years before moving to Kansas City. She was very active in the PTA and Lakewood Property Owners Associatio­n, where she served as Softball Coordinato­r and enjoyed coaching her daughters’ softball teams for many years. She traveled extensivel­y in her life. Jane was very active in the North Little Rock Woman’s Club and Shepherd’s Center of North Little Rock.

Jane was predecease­d by her husband, John; and is survived by children, Mark (Lisa Hall) Jacob of Evanston, Illinois; Tim Jacob of Little Rock, Ark.; Kathleen (Carl) Wikstrom of Exeter, N.H.; Paul (Rhonda Allen) Jacob of Woodbridge, Va.; Matt (Jeff Campbell) Jacob of Arlington, Va.; and Anne Adams of Kansas City, Mo.; thirteen grandchild­ren; eleven great-grandchild­ren; a brother, Jerry (Betty) Witham; and a brother-in-law, Daniel (Gayle Mogle) Jacob.

A rosary and visitation for Jane will be held at McGilley Memorial Chapel-Midtown on Thursday, June 23. Rosary will start at 6 p.m., and visitation will follow at 6:30-8 p.m. A Traditiona­l Latin Requiem Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 24, at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. Burial will be Friday, June 24, at 12:30 p.m., at Leavenwort­h National Cemetery in Leavenwort­h, Kan. The family requests donations be made to Shepherd’s Center of Kansas City, Shepherd’s Center of North Little Rock, or Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
