BENTON — Scott David Sorrells,

age 60, of Benton, went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2022.

He was born on December 19, 1961, in Camden, Ark. Scott was a graduate of Bauxite High School and attended Saline Missionary Baptist Church. At the age of 17, Scott, along with his father, W.L. Sorrells, founded WLS Sawmill, where he worked until his death.

Scott, along with his brother, Jimmy Sorrells, excelled in timber and land acquisitio­ns and residentia­l developmen­ts. Scott was an avid hunter and outdoorsma­n. He loved fishing, duck, deer and turkey hunting. Scott was well-known by his family and friends for his duck hunting and duck calling expertise. He also crafted duck calls for those hunters who he considered as friends.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Ashcraft Sorrells; son, David Ryan Sorrells (Natalie); daughter, Christina Sorrells Stec (Chris Stec); and the loves of his life, his six grandchild­ren (Bailey, Skylar, Shelby, Turner, Jack, and Drew). He is also survived by his parents, W.L. and Wanda Sorrells; brother, Jimmy Sorrells (Janelle); and sister, Sonya Sorrells Dale (Tim). In addition, he had many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.

Pallbearer­s will be Dennis Ashcraft, Daniel Ashcraft, Brian Dale, Scott Suggs, Carl Clinton, Rodney Sorrells, Chad Sorrells, and Mark Sorrells.

Visitation will be held at Ashby’s Funeral Home on Saturday, October 29th at 12 p.m. with a service to follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Kim Hammer officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Tull, Ark.
