BEEBE — Betty Jo Ray,

89, of Beebe, formerly of Conway, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

She was born November 11, 1933, in Mt Vernon, Ark., to the late Sidney Warren Harlan and Flo D. Brewer.

Betty was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Doyle Ray; her son, Steve Ray, and brothers, V.V. (Bird) Harlan and Norman Harlan.

Betty is survived by her children, Stanley Harlan Ray (Jenny) and Shelah Ray Gunter (Ray), and foster son, John Reed who became a part of the family through the Easter Seals program; sister, Jola Harlan Mullins; daughter-in-law, Sherry Ray; a special friend, Wendy Blackwood, who was like a daughter to Betty; grandchild­ren, Stephanie Ray Havens (Nicky), Shanna DeLee Ray, Jeremy Kirkland ( Stephanie), Sheray Higginboth­am (Allen), Scott Gunter (Lauren), Sydney Gunter, Cody Burge, and Kara Burge; great-grandchild­ren, Sophie, Sadie, and Spencer Havens, Troy, Carter, and Abby Kirkland, Grayson and Jonathan Higginboth­am, Landen and Ellie Gunter and Mckynzie Burge.

Betty was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Austin, Ark., and was employed at the Conway Human Developmen­t Center and retired after over 20 years of service. She and her husband Kenneth were 4-H leaders and were always bringing children into their home. Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and she especially loved sharing her finds from her trips to flea markets with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2023, with the funeral service following at 2 p.m., at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearer­s will be Scott Gunter, Jeremy Kirkland, Troy Kirkland, Carter Kirkland, Johnny Mullins, and Keith Mullins. Honorary Pallbearer­s will be Jim Blackwood and Jordan Blackwood.
