CROSSETT — Cora Sue Denson Bays,

age 83, of Crossett, Ark., passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. She was born on April 10, 1939, to Frank Elmer Denson, Sr. and Zenobia Kate Crisp in Fountain Hill, Ark.

Sue was a member of First United Methodist Church in Crossett. She was a dedicated employee for the City of Crossett from 1976 to 2010.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth W. Bays; two brothers, Frank Elmer Denson, Jr., and John Crisp Denson; one sister, Eleanor Farmer; her son-in-law, Richard S. Jones III; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bays; four brothers-in-law, John Earl Bays and Charles “Mitch” Bays, Stovall Farmer and James “Pete” Woods.

Survivors include one son, Steven W. Bays (Tamara) of Searcy, Ark.; two daughters, Lisa B. Jones of Crossett, Ark., and Jennifer B. Walker (Michael) of Star City, Ark.; six grandchild­ren, Richard S. Jones IV (Audrey), Katie Barnes (Britt), Jason Bays (Heather), Emily Smith (Kameron), Abby Bristow (Pierce), and Caleb Walker; six great-grandchild­ren, Jack, Ella, Winnie, Britton, Magnolia, and Olivia; one sister, Nancy Woods; and one sister in law, Evelyn Bays.

A celebratio­n of life service was held at First United Methodist Church in Crossett on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2 P.M. with Bro. Brian Diffee officiatin­g. Interment was in Crossroads Cemetery under direction of Jones Funeral Home, Inc. Pallbearer­s were Richard Jones IV, Jason Bays, Caleb Walker, Kameron Smith, Pierce Bristow, and Britt Barnes.

Visitation began one hour prior to the service.
