LEE SUMMIT, Mo. — Sharon Gail Fowler Anderson,

77, of Kansas City, Mo. entered into eternity on Feb. 28, 2023.

She was born to William Harry and Marion Virginia Fowler on Jan. 2, 1946 in Little Rock and was their firstborn daughter, followed by four sisters.

She is survived by her son William Eric Anderson of Lee Summit, Mo., Sisters; Virginia Fowler Walden Ford and Harrietta Fowler Lindsey both of Little Rock, Doris Fowler Wilson of Edmond, Okla. and Rev. Dr. Renee Fowler Hornbuckle of Colleyvill­e, Tex. her loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews along with many other relatives and friends.

Sharon was an amazing educator. She designed undergradu­ate and graduate courses in Speech, debate, and Theater Arts, such as Introducti­on to Theater, Lighting and Scenic Design, Acting I, Acting II, History of Theater, Technical Stage Crew, and Business classes. For many years Sharon worked as a teacher and Instructio­nal Administra­tor in the Kansas City School District, Kansas City, Missouri, the Little Rock School District and School Districts in Dallas and Arlington, Tex. She was a Fulbright- Hayes Congressio­nal Scholarshi­p to study abroad in Senegal, WEST AFRICA University of Cheik Anta Diop of Dakar, Gaston Berger University of Saint Louise’ and West African Research Associatio­n. She won the Mrs. Arkansas America” Pageant in 1990. She was the First African American winner. She also represente­d Arkansas in the internatio­nal Pageant held in Moscow, Russia. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She leave a legacy of supporting students and young people in all kinds of creative endeavors. A 5-7 p.m. Walkthroug­h viewing will be on Friday March 17th at the O.T. Memorial Chapel, funeral 12 noon March 18th at St. Andrew United Methodist Church 4600 Baseline Road.
