Guy Winfred Hoyt
Guy Winfred Hoyt, 92, of Star City passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Arkansas Hospice Ottenheimer Inpatient Center at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock. He was born May 6, 1930, in Louisiana to the late Claude Clinton and Georgia Alice Hoyt. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He enlisted in the United States Army March 20, 1951, and was a veteran the Korean War, serving in the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge.
Guy was a retired farmer, loved to work, working in the garden, and going to ball games. He was a proud dad and granddad.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Maxine Tucker Hoyt; 1 great-grandson, Sayler Weast; four brothers, Basil Hoyt, Claude Hoyt, Jr., Jerry Hoyt, and Van Hoyt; three sisters, Katherine Ashcraft, Helen Gasaway, and Mary Alice Calloway.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Jamie) Hoyt of Jonesboro; daughter, Sandy Hoyt Grayson of Star City; one sister, Sue (Tom) McGregor of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren, Deanda (Starsky) Weast, Rachael Whaley, Corey (Jono) Waldrup, Remmel Miron Grayson, Jr., Hunter (Morgan) Hoyt, Laurel Hoyt (Aaron) Rodriquez, Justin Hoyt, Erin Hoyt, and Korbyn Hoyt; and 11 great-grandchildren, Chandler and Lilly Weast, Emerson and Asher Whaley, Bella and Caroline Waldrup, Karter, Preston, Bentley, and Remington Grayson, and Aya Hoyt-Rodriquez.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, with Bro. John Sanders and Bro. Allen Hagood officiating. Visitation is 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial at Best Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
