Guy Winfred Hoyt, 92, of Star City passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Arkansas Hospice Ottenheime­r Inpatient Center at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock. He was born May 6, 1930, in Louisiana to the late Claude Clinton and Georgia Alice Hoyt. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He enlisted in the United States Army March 20, 1951, and was a veteran the Korean War, serving in the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge.

Guy was a retired farmer, loved to work, working in the garden, and going to ball games. He was a proud dad and granddad.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Maxine Tucker Hoyt; 1 great-grandson, Sayler Weast; four brothers, Basil Hoyt, Claude Hoyt, Jr., Jerry Hoyt, and Van Hoyt; three sisters, Katherine Ashcraft, Helen Gasaway, and Mary Alice Calloway.

Survivors include a son, Gary (Jamie) Hoyt of Jonesboro; daughter, Sandy Hoyt Grayson of Star City; one sister, Sue (Tom) McGregor of Pine Bluff; nine grandchild­ren, Deanda (Starsky) Weast, Rachael Whaley, Corey (Jono) Waldrup, Remmel Miron Grayson, Jr., Hunter (Morgan) Hoyt, Laurel Hoyt (Aaron) Rodriquez, Justin Hoyt, Erin Hoyt, and Korbyn Hoyt; and 11 great-grandchild­ren, Chandler and Lilly Weast, Emerson and Asher Whaley, Bella and Caroline Waldrup, Karter, Preston, Bentley, and Remington Grayson, and Aya Hoyt-Rodriquez.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, with Bro. John Sanders and Bro. Allen Hagood officiatin­g. Visitation is 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial at Best Cemetery. Pallbearer­s will be nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
