STAR CITY — Leonard Hampton Hogg,

68, of Star City, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 14 at CHI Hot Springs Rehab Hospital. He was the son of the late Buddy and Toy Hogg.

He married the love of his life, Margaret Ann Baker on June 19, 1976. The couple had two children, Brandon and Michelle Hogg.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by infant siblings, Ricky Allen and Edna Jean Hogg; a brother in law, Jerry Wright; a niece, Jennifer Lynn Boley and a nephew, Bryan Wright.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years; his son, Brandon (Ashley) Hogg; his daughter, Michelle; grandchild­ren, Ryne and McKenzye Hogg and their mother Mandy, and McKenna Foreman.

He is also survived by two sisters, Betty Wright and Barbara (Johnny) Boley; life long friends, Jerry and Rene Johnson; a nephew, Ricky Wright; a niece, Julie Boley and several great nieces and nephews.

Leonard was a fierce friend and always wore a smile. He brought joy and light to every room he entered.

He dedicated his life to serving the public through a career in law enforcemen­t. He proudly served with the Arkansas State Police for 35 years, retiring in 2014 as Captain.

Upon retirement, Leonard went on to serve and protect the citizens of Lincoln County for eight years as Sheriff.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 16 at First Baptist Church in Star City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, at First Baptist Church in Star City. Burial will follow in Hot Springs.
