OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — James Tony Newboles

left this world May 9, 2023. He was born January 4, 1947 in Lake City, Ark., to Clyde and Wanda (McDonald) Newboles. He graduated Dixie High School in 1964. He joined the army after high school and served until being honorably discharged. Tony was a lifetime member of the Levy VFW Post 11474.

Everyone knew his love for music and he had the voice to match. He formed a successful band called The Rock Pile. They played over several states, won multiple contests, and even recorded a couple of records.

He enjoyed his work at Anheuser Busch for 15 years. A friend sold him the APA franchise which he was the League Operator for 30 years. After selling the APA and retiring, he went to work for Whelan Security for 7 years.

Tony loved his Razorbacks, his Budweiser, and his family. He loved to hit the Spring River in a kayak and spend the day on the water. He was always up for a game of scat with the family or friends. He loved to shoot a game of pool whenever he had the chance. He was well known and respected.

Tony was happily married to Wendy Newboles for 32 years. She will carry his memory forward along with his son Tony Jr & wife Deanna, daughter Annette & Bryan. Sisters; Juanita, Kay & Eddie, Pat. Brothers; Albert, Jack & Sheryl, Weldon & Tammy, Bruce & Carla. Brotherin-Law; Gary & wife Alma Gish. Grandkids; Lynda, Diane, Taylor, Kayla, Haleigh, Casey. four great- grandkids, many nieces and nephews and family and friends. He is preceded by his parents and sisters Holly Utley and Faye Arnold.
