WHITE HALL — Dr. Clyde Tracy,

90, of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

Born Charles Clyde Tracy June 12, 1932 in Warren, Dr. Tracy was a son of Robert Clifton Tracy and Sarah Hazel Englehart Tracy.

He was reared and received his early education in Warren and Little Rock, graduating from Little Rock High School. After two years of Little Rock Junior College, Dr. Tracy attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville on a basketball scholarship, then earned his M.D. in 1957 from UAMS, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He was also awarded the Faculty Key as the outstanding student for four years of medical school and received the Joseph Roberts Award as the Outstanding Scholar for the four years of medical school.

Dr. Tracy opened his medical practice in Pine Bluff in 1961. He served the Pine Bluff and surrounding communities as a doctor of internal medicine until his retirement in the mid 1990’s.

After retirement, he and his wife, Barbara Chastain Tracy, moved to Pensacola, Fla. They enjoyed Florida until they moved back to Arkansas in 2006.

Dr. Tracy was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff and enjoyed snow skiing and bird hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Barbara Chastain Tracy, whom he married June 11, 1953 in Little Rock; children, Mike Tracy (Diane) of Little Rock, Carol Gurley (Tony) of Columbus, Miss., Nancy Pearce (Lee) of White Hall and Bill Tracy of Southaven, Miss.; brother, Jim Tracy of West Palm Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Judy Rudd officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Warren. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4-6 p.m. at Robinson’s.
