RANDALL DEE RICKARD,
age 59, of the Sardis Community made his heavenly flight on June 26, 2023. Randy was born on February 28, 1964 to Dewell Vernon and Rose Marie Green Rickard. Randy was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and devoted Papaw.
He was a baseball coach and commissioner while his boys were growing up, and if baseball was not enough, he also spent other weekends at the motor cross park with the boys. He loved to fish, anytime he was free, you could find him and the boys at the lake fishing. When the grandbabies started playing ball, he never missed a practice or game. He loved more than anything spending time with his family and talking about the good ole days.
Randy was a big prankster and loved to tease others, especially his siblings, one shared his sense of humor, and the other one thought his siblings were “warped”. But not a day went by when he did not speak to at least one of them. He loved and was loved deeply by them.
He leaves behind his childhood sweetheart and wife of 38 years Debra Lynne Baxley Rickard. Sons, Cody Rickard of the Sardis Community, Caleb (Tori) Rickard of Shannon Hills, and Cory Rickard of the Sardis Community. Grandchildren, Preslea, Randi, Ryder, Ryann, Legend and Chevy Rickard, Ashlynn and Braxton McCauley, brother Revy (Patty) Rickard of Little Rock, and sister Regina (Kenneth) Burks of Haskell. Uncle Danny (Mildred) Rickard, Aunt Veta Rickard and Aunt Virginia (Loyd) English, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, niece Amber Burks, grandparents Dayton and Lenora Jones Rickard of Paron and Hershel and Ethel Tull Green of Sardis.
Services will be at Ashby’s Funeral Home on Friday June 30th at 10 a.m. Graveside will be at Pinecrest following the service. Visitation will be Thursday June the 29th from 6-8 p.m. at Ashby’s Funeral Home.
