age 74, of Fordyce passed away on June 27, 2023.

Jerry was born August 15, 1948, in Fordyce, Ark. He was the son of George Nathan Rogers and Bonnie Mae Buzbee Rogers. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Carolyn Green (Ron Green). Survivors include Becky Ann Vineyard Rogers, his wife of 52 years, his son James Rogers, his daughter Jennifer Rogers, and two grandchild­ren Wes Rogers and Ethan Rogers all of Fordyce.

While growing up as a Fordyce Redbug, Jerry played football and ran track. After graduating from Fordyce High School in 1966, Jerry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served three tours of duty in Vietnam. After serving his country, he returned to Fordyce and obtained a business degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Jerry worked for Hol-N-One Donut Co. of Ark. for 48 years. During that time he helped the company expand to include a blending operation.

Throughout his lifetime Jerry was an active member of First Baptist Church in Fordyce. Jerry was a deacon at First Baptist Church and was given the honor of being an Honor Life Deacon. He served in the youth department while his children were teenagers and drove the church bus for numerous youth trips. Jerry also helped with the audio and visuals at the church. He was also a member of the Gideons.

Not only was Jerry active in his church, but he was also active in his community. He drove the cheerleade­r bus and basketball bus for several years to away games. He served his Fordyce community by serving on the Planning and Zoning Committee, the Oakland Cemetery Associatio­n, and the Board of Directors for the Dallas County Medical Center.

Funeral services honoring Jerry will be held at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce, Ark.

Visitation will be Friday, June 30, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfune­ralhome.net.
