ALEXANDER — Shirley Janett Lawhon West Jestice,

aged 87 of Alexander, Ark., passed away from this life in the early morning of Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in Bryant, Ark.

Shirley was born in Sage, Ark., to Hayden and Lula Lawhon on March 18, 1936. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School.

Shirley was of the Missionary Baptist faith and was a devoted Christian all her life from her teenage years on. She was a long-time member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Alexander, Ark. She will be remembered for her love of Christ and her family, her sweet and gentle, loving nature, her beauty, and her amazing culinary skills. People would often say that she was a “true lady.”

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Edward E. Jestice of Alexander, Ark.; her daughter, Connie Marie Bell (Michael) of Alexander; son, Daniel Hayden West (Debbie) of Rockledge, Fla., son, Jeffrey Lee Jestice of Alexander, son, Steven Grover Jestice of Bearden, Ark., and son, Bradley Charles Jestice (Waleska) of Alexander. She is survived by nine grandchild­ren; and 16 great-grandchild­ren.

Shirley is preceded in death by her first husband, William O. West of Wichita, Kansas; son, Ronald E. Jestice of Bearden, Ark.; her father and mother, Hayden and Lula Lawhon of Melbourne, Ark.; and her sister, Nancy Alene Lawhon Wolford of Guy, Ark.

Funeral services will be held at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton, Ark. 72015, on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 1 p.m., with Reverend Terry Parrish of Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church officiatin­g. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery, 7401 AR-5 Alexander, Ark. 72002. Visitation will be held at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton, Ark. 72015 on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 4-6 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Living Center at Stagecoach in Bryant, Ark., for their care and kindness.
