79, of Floyd, Ark., passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 23, 2023, surrounded by friends and family.

Nell was born Nov. 15, 1943, to Hershel and Mildred Roush Webb of Floyd. She was a member of the Beebe High School Class of 1961 where she excelled as a basketball player. Nell was the longtime postmaster in Cabot, dedicating 35 of years of her career to the United States Postal Service. In retirement, she moved back to Floyd, where she built her dream home on a hill overlookin­g the family farm.

Nell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Stracener; sister, Patricia Fisher; son, Stanley Stracener; and grandson, Seth Stracener.

She is survived by her brother, Laney (Peggy) Webb of Floyd; sons, Steve (Sheree) Stracener of Kingsport, Tenn., and Scott (Mary Ann Davis) Stracener of Floyd; grandchild­ren, Stephanie and Spencer Stracener of Kingsport, Tenn., Ashley (Steven) Hill of Austin, Baylee (Hunter) Field of Austin, Cole (Mary Sue) Stracener of Floyd, and Brooklyn Stracener of Conway. Also left to cherish her memory are two great-granddaugh­ters, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Nell’s lifelong best friend for her unwavering friendship, and to those who provided selfless and compassion­ate care in Nell’s final months.

Memorials may be made to Nell’s favorite charitable organizati­ons St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Wounded Warrior Project or Floyd United Methodist Church.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023, at Smith-Westbook Funeral Home in Beebe. A graveside service and burial will take place on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Romance Cemetery. www.smithfamil­ycares.com
