HEBER SPRINGS — Clarence Verlon Abram,

the son of Virgil Abram and Lucille Collins Abram, was born in Searcy, Ark., on April 28, 1951, and passed away in North Little Rock, Ark., on September 13, 2023, at the age of 72 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs and a member of the Gideons Internatio­nal Organizati­on. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a past commander of the American Legion Post 64, and the past commander of the Arkansas American Legion Associatio­n. He was a past American Military Officer Associatio­n of America. He received a graduate BS from Arkansas Tech University in Russellvil­le, Ark., in 1974, and was a member of the Arkansas Tech Associatio­n, and a member of the Cleburne County Foundation Board. He received a Master Degree in 1983 from Texas A&M College. He was an avid outdoorsma­n, he enjoyed hunting and was a farmer. He lived on his family farm of 102 years of the community of Wilburn. He provided access and care for the Trumpeter Swans during migratory season on his self made ponds on his property, which he graciously opened to the public. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Lucille Abram; his aunt, Verna Lee Collins; and his past wife of 33 years and mother of their children, Patricia Taylor Abram. Survivors are: his daughter, Vicki Owens and husband, James, of Wilburn; son, Clinton Abram and wife, Marlene, of Erin, Tenn.; and brother, Julian Abram and wife, Susan, of Fayettevil­le, Ark. He is survived by five grandchild­ren: Payton Owens and Gauge Owens of Wilburn, Caden Abram of Fouke, Carter Abram and Patricia Abram of Erin, Tenn.; besides other relatives and many friends.
