HOT SPRINGS — Penny Ann (Franks) Formby,

age 78, our beloved mother, sister, grandma, and loyal friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 14, 2023. Penny was born on December 30, 1944, in Texarkana, Texas, to Vernia Nell and J.W. Franks.

Penny was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ronnie Formby; and her parents.

Penny is survived by her loving daughter, Deanna (Rick) Ferguson of Little Rock; and her son, Ronnie (Dee Anna) Formby of Hot Springs; sisters, Peggy (Bruce) Munson of Little Rock and Betsy (Dave) Bramlett of Hope; and her sister-in-law, Robyn (Ronnie) Blasingame of Maumelle; eight grandchild­ren; Randi McLemore (Jacob), Taylor, Brock Ferguson (Kate), Jack, Claire, Ally and Abby Ferguson, and Ronni Colleen and Winnifred Formby; and two great-grandchild­ren, Sicilia and Ford Ferguson.

Penny had a long career as a business teacher at Hope High School. She loved to play golf and tennis, and was an active member of First United Methodist Church, PEO, Garden Club, Book Club, and bridge clubs. However, her first love was traveling the world with friends and family.

A memorial service to celebrate Penny’s life will be held at First United Methodist Church, September 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. at 1100 Central Ave., Hot Springs, Ark. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, you can donate in her name to First United Methodist Church Hot Springs or to PEO, AP Chapter.

Her joy for life and dedication to family and friends will always be cherished and deeply missed.
