94, died October 17, 2023. She was born December 2, 1928, in Bearden, Ark., to Roland and Rosa Gammill Bennett. In addition to her parents, Daphne was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll; a daughter, Kahne Lindsey; her brothers, Orland Barner, Nick Barner, Oscar Barner, Wilbur Barner, Ernest Barner, Hays Barner and Joe Barner; her sisters, Rose Mary Barner, Mucie York, Pearl Stoneciphe­r, Bernice Barner, and Beryl Virginia Barner. Daphne is survived by a son, Cary Bennett; her grandchild­ren Jon Bennett, Tyler Lindsey, Jason Lindsey, Chris Lindsey, Krystal Pennington and Kellye Wilson as well as several great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

Daphne was an active member of the church of Christ and, along with her husband Carroll, spent several years as missionari­es in Africa. Daphne was very involved in the Ouachita County Medical Center Auxiliary since February 17, 1996. She served as chairman from 1997-2014, historian from 1999-2000, secretary from 2000-2003, and treasurer from 2003 to 2021. Daphne has 18,545 hours of service and was a lifetime member of the Auxiliary. She was active at the state level holding the position of State Treasurer and State Newsletter Editor. She had made numerous friendship­s throughout the state and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be 10-11:30 Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Proctor Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 Saturday at Salem Cemetery near Bearden with Jerry Berley officiatin­g.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ouachita County Medical Center Auxiliary, 638 California SW, Camden, Ark. 71701 (with the notation ocmc aux).
