SHARON KAY FARMER HENRY,
lovingly known as Kay, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the age of 66. She was born in Shreveport, La., on November 6, 1956, and her family relocated to Little Rock, Ark., during her early years.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Rose Farmer, and A. Louis Farmer. She is survived by her devoted husband, Scott Henry, of Little Rock, Ark. Kay leaves behind a loving family, including her children: Alexandra Carle of Nashville, Tenn., Hunter Carle (Julie) of Bentonville, Ark., and Christian Carle (Katherine) of Nashville, Tenn.
Kay is fondly remembered by her sister, Ann Cottrell, of Little Rock, Ark., and her brother, Mark Farmer (Sandra), of Maumelle, Ark. She was a beloved aunt to her nephews, Mitchell Farmer (Christin) of Greenbrier, Ark., and Wesley Farmer of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Kay embraced her role as grandmother to Brayden Gallegos, Avery Worthey, Mary Katherine Carle, William Carle, and her grandniece, Ashlynn Farmer. She also had numerous cousins spread across Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, and North Arkansas.
Kay’s spiritual foundation was nurtured in the Episcopal Church, where she actively participated in EYC and served as a Camp Mitchell counselor. A founding member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Kay’s compassionate nature left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path.
A graduate of Hall High School and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), Kay enjoyed a successful career as a licensed Dental Hygienist in Little Rock, where her patients adored her. Her ability to make others feel comfortable and cared for was a hallmark of her life. She shared her warm smile with everyone she encountered, whether they were patients, friends, family, or strangers, even in times of illness.
Kay loved her three kids deeply, and they were her whole world. Life wasn’t always easy, but she never stopped believing in them. Her caring ways helped them find their strength and faith. Even though she’s gone, her love still guides them every day, giving them hope and courage for the future.
A celebration of Kay’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 20, at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, located at 20900 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com.
