Billy Joe Peyton

-

Billy Joe Peyton, 87, peacefully went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2023, in his home in Pine Bluff. He was born October 14, 1936, in Pine Bluff.

An avid outdoorsman, Bill loved to talk about hunting and fishing almost as much as he loved to do them. He was also a talented musician on the guitar, piano, and violin.

Above all else, though, he loved the Lord. He pastored numerous Church of God churches and truly had a heart for the work. In his old age, he was frequently heard announcing the fact that he was looking for Jesus to come today.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jottie and Virginia Peyton; siblings, Jottie Peyton Jr., Harold Peyton, Gerald Peyton, and Marilyn Hashman; sons, Billy Peyton and Byron Peyton; and grandson, Dylan Peyton.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Andrea Peyton of Pine Bluff, Ark.; sisters, Kathrine Boling and husband Wayne of Bluff City, Tenn., Shirley Linahan and husband Mike of Shariton, Iowa; grandchildren, Danielle Rude and husband Tyson of Michigan, Shane Peyton and wife Dusty of Texas, Ashley West of Pine Bluff, Ark., Jacob Hess of Wynne, Ark., Lashai Young and husband Cord of West Memphis, Ark., Ben Peyton of Pine Bluff, Ark., Lauren Rodgers and husband Caleb of White Hall, Ark., and Josh Peyton of White Hall, Ark.; as well as 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2023, 5-7 p.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
