BENTON — Bertha Mildred Rainey,

83, of Benton Ark., went home to be with the Lord December 13, 2023. Born on October 27, 1940 in Wichita, Kan., to Walter and Dorothy Jane Shaw. Bertha was known for her deep love for her family, friends, and Lord. She was deeply invested in her loved ones lives and genuinely loved celebratin­g victories with them. She was a true and faithful prayer warrior and loved spending hours reading her bible and memorizing scripture. She was full of joy and laughter and had the ability to make everyone around her feel incredibly special. Her heart was filled with such abundant gratitude no matter the circumstan­ce. She led her life with humility and intentiona­l love. She always chose to see the very best in people. Bertha was incredibly loved and will be deeply missed; however we are so thankful for the gift of her life and the promise of heaven.

She is preceded in death by her husband George Nathan Rainey, daughter Lynda Rainey, brother Walter (Jr.), and parents Walter and Dorothy Shaw.

Bertha is survived by her son Nathan Rainey (Lisa), her grandchild­ren Matthew Taylor (Heather), Zachary Taylor, Lenee’ Gipson (Matt), Trey Rainey (Nicole), Clayton Rainey (Samantha), Madeline Rainey, Natalie Rainey, Charis Rainey, Candace Crawley, Courtney Crawley. She is also survived by her great-grandchild­ren, Dalton Taylor, Logan Taylor, Kai Taylor, Channing Rainey, Rylan Rainey, Viviann Rainey, Quade Rainey, Owen Rainey, Grady Gipson, Ella Gipson, Crew Gipson, Trinity Crawley and Lamerie Crawley. Bertha is also survived by her sisters Edie Weaver, and Della Baker (Tommy) along with many other family members, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends she adored.

A visitation celebratin­g Bertha’s life will be held at Roller Ballard Alcoa Funeral Home on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.
