87, of Des Arc passed away January 16, 2024, in Searcy. She was born August 28, 1936 in Des Arc, Ark., to Madie Patterson King and Marvin J. King.

Mrs. Neaville was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gloria Dunbar; her beloved son, Scott King Neaville; and her husband of 65 years, Charles Keith Neaville Sr.

She is survived by son, Dr. Charles Keith Neaville Jr. and wife Susan; grandson, Charles Keith (Trace) Neaville III and his wife, Sarah Beth; grandson, Andrew Scott Neaville; and precious great-granddaugh­ter, Guinevere Elizabeth Neaville, all of Searcy.

Lynwood attended school in Des Arc, where she graduated in 1954 as an Honor Graduate and received an award for Perfect Attendance for 12 years. She completed her BSE in Business Education from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1958 and married Chick that summer. They made their home in Griffithvi­lle, where the only job available for her was fifth grade, so she took the job. Over the next few years, got her elementary education degree, which led to a 37-year career as a fourth and fifth grade teacher, teaching well over 1,000 children. The last 25 years she taught in Des Arc.

Students recall her fun classroom with songs and games and most students gaining some kind of nickname which she never forgot. She always had a story about each and every student when she would run into them.

She and Chick were totally devoted to each other and were a positive example for many people. She said this past weekend, as usual, that she had a very good life, and she had strived to serve God the best way that she could.

A devout Christian, Lynwood was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Des Arc, where she was in the Chancel Choir, United Methodist Women, a Sunday School teacher for 40 years, Bible School teacher and headed, along with Sandra Wyatt, the Kitchen Committee until health led them to turn over their duties.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 10-11 a.m., immediatel­y followed at 11 a.m. by a Celebratio­n of Life service, with Pastors Jaimie Alexander and Melissa Maskell officiatin­g, at the First United Methodist Church, 605 Erwin Street, Des Arc, Ark. 72040. Burial following the Service will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Des Arc. Arrangemen­ts by Garth Funeral Home.
