WHY THE INTRIGUE Weather permitting, Bald Knob will have a chance to inch closer to first-place Riverview if it can pick up a victory at home. A defeat, however, will leave the Bulldogs three games back in the loss column with just five conference games left to play in the regular season.
NOTEWORTHY The last time Riverview lost a game was on Nov. 17 when it was beaten 81-75 at Bergman. Since then, the Raiders have won 13 consecutive. … Bald Knob suffered an 81-75 loss at Riverview in the teams’ first meeting on Dec. 12. … Tadrian Baker, Tucker Cunningham and Tristian Cunningham all have scored more than 1,000 points in their careers for the Raiders. … Five of the Bulldogs’ final eight games are on the road, including their last four league matchups. WHY THE INTRIGUE There’s a fourway tie for first place in the league between Springdale, Springdale HarBer, Fort Smith Northside and Fayetteville. The winner is guaranteed to at least remain in that spot for the rest of the week. The loser will fall a game behind in the standings. NOTEWORTHY Springdale had won eight consecutive games before being upset 57-49 at Bentonville on Jan. 11. … Har-Ber has won the prior eight games against its rivals. The last time Springdale beat the Lady Wildcats was on Feb. 8, 2019, when the Lady Bulldogs won 54-43. … Three different players (Delaney Roller, Makenlie Campbell, Myah Haney) have led Har-Ber in scoring in each of its past three games. … Springdale is set to hold Fort Smith Northside on Saturday.
