PINE BLUFF — Dorothy “Dot” Boyd 93 went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2024. Dot was born on December 7, 1930 in Van Buren, Ark. She was the daughter of the late William and Gladys Davis Wallace. She was reared and educated in Van Buren and married Jack Boyd in December 20, 1952 and they moved to Pine Bluff where Jack was employed with Internatio­nal Paper Mill.

Dot started her career in the Pine Bluff School District. In 1970 she started working for Sissy’s Log Cabin until her retirement in 2010. Dot loved square dancing and she was well known for her favorite cooking of cheese straws, chocolate chip cookies and yeast rolls. She was a longtime member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she served on various committees, mentor for children’s confirmati­on class, member of the Wedding Ring Sunday school class and President of WSCS and Spiritual Life Leader. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Jack Boyd. Survivors include her son, Mike Boyd (Cathy) of Royal, Ark.; her daughter, Pam Milam (Bubba) of Pine Bluff, Ark.; grandsons, Justin Boyd (Heather) of Pearcy, Ark., Charlie Milam of Pine Bluff, Ark., Chance Milam of Fayettevil­le, Ark., granddaugh­ter Katie Milam of Little Rock, Ark. and her great-grandson, Brooks Boyd and her lifelong friend, Sissy Jones. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday January 30, 2024 at Lakeside Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Judy Rudd with visitation at 1 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Cypress Memorial Gardens by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
