Dumpsters available for excess trash

Large Waste Management dumpsters have been placed in two locations in Pine Bluff and are only for excess bagged and household trash.

The locations are #2 Convention Drive on the Plaza Hotel’s parking lot and 413 University Drive on the vacant lot next to Hayes Beauty and Barber Salon and the Green Door, according to the mayor’s office.

Grand Prairie art center names winners

The Arts Center of the Grand Prairie at Stuttgart announced winners of the Festival of the Arts Photograph­y Awards for 2024. The awards reception will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 30, according to a news release.

Locals on UA’s Fulbright honors’ lists

Southeast Arkansas students were named to the fall 2023 Dean’s and Chancellor’s lists in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, the students achieved at least a 3.75 grade-point average for the semester. To qualify for the Chancellor’s List, students must also achieve at least a 4.00 grade-point average.

Honorees include:

Fall 2023 graduates at Mississipp­i State University include several area students, according to a news release.

Shelby Rainbolt of Sheridan received a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated Cum Laude from MSU’s College of Agricultur­e and Life Sciences.

David Doss of McGehee received a Bachelor of Science degree from MSU’s Bagley College of Engineerin­g.

John Stephens of Stuttgart received a Master of Agribusine­ss Management degree from MSU’s College of Agricultur­e and Life Sciences.

The Chancellor’s Honor Roll is reserved for students who earn a semester grade point average between 3.75 and 4.00. Area honorees include:
