DARDANELLE — Bobbie Sue Stinnett-Jackson,

83, of Dardanelle, Ark., passed away on January 20, 2024. She was born on January 20, 1940, in Clarksvill­e, Ark., to the late Henry C. Esch and Robbie Herring Esch (preceded in death). Bobbie Sue was the beloved wife of the late Tommy Nelson Stinnett and the late Melvin Stanford Jackson, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sophie Sue Stinnett, granddaugh­ter, Christina Paige Stinnett, brother, Van Henry Esch and sister, Carolyn Esch Crow. Bobbie Sue is survived by her loving son, Dr. Thomas C. (Chris) Stinnett and grandson Thomas C. Stinnett, II. She is also survived by her nephews, Chuck Crow, Terry Crow, and Kevin Crow.

Bobbie Sue was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. She had a vibrant personalit­y and was known for her outgoing and personable nature. Bobbie Sue was deeply involved in her community, serving as a member of the Dardanelle City Council and Police Commission­er. She was also the North Yell County Division Chairman of the United Way and a dedicated fundraiser for various charitable organizati­ons, including the American Cancer Society, Easter Seals, the American Heart Associatio­n, and the Mother’s March of Dimes. Bobbie Sue was a member of the Yell County Mounted Patrol Auxiliary.

Profession­ally, Bobbie Sue worked for Entergy Corporatio­n for many years, where she made history as the first woman to hold the position of Journeyman Meterman. Her dedication and hard work were recognized when she was awarded the Entergy Employee Service Award by the Company President.

During her retirement, Bobbie Sue found joy in gardening. She had a playful and free-spirited nature that endeared her to the neighborho­od children, who loved spending time with her.

A ceremony to honor Bobbie Sue’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle, Ark.

The family kindly requests that contributi­ons be made to local or State Humane Societies in honor of Bobbie Sue’s love for animals.
