BASEBALL

BENTONVILL­E 4, BENTONVILL­E WEST 0 Carter Nye gave up 3 hits and struck out 3 in 6 innings to lead Bentonvill­e (4-3, 3-2 6A-West) past its rivals. Boyce Reed went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI for the Tigers.

BOONEVILLE 8, MANSFIELD 6 Dax Goff was 3 for 3 in the win for Booneville (1-5). Rylen Ray and Dylan Todd each finished 2 for 4 for the Bearcats. Ray also drove in four runs.

BROOKLAND 9, JONESBORO WESTSIDE 1 Jake Reece and Griffin Duvall had home runs to lead Brookland (7-3, 1-0 4A-3) over the Warriors. Cooper Bode and Jaxon Findley both added doubles for the Bearcats.

BRYANT 5, JONESBORO 0 Ridge Southerlan­d pitched 7 innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 8 in a home win for Bryant (5-3, 1-0 6A-Central). Blake Scoggins had two hits for the Hornets.

EPISCOPAL COLLEGIATE 10, ATKINS 0 Hunter Grumbles struck out 14 batters in six innings as Episcoal Collegiate (1-1) shut out the Red Devils. Jaren Tritt was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 4 stolen bases for the Wildcats.

GENTRY 9, LAVACA 5 Drew Nash threw a complete game to push Gentry (5-4) over the Golden Arrows. Nash allowed 5 runs on 6 hits and struck out 15 for the Pioneers. Briar Mayberry drove in four runs in the victory.

IZARD COUNTY 6, QUITMAN 4 Cash Arnhart had a triple and drove in a run as Izard County (2-0, 2-0 2A-2) prevailed. Xander McCandlis also drove in a run while Tyler Morehead had 10 strikeouts for the Cougars. Greyson Ealy and Jacob Ivey had two hits each for Quitman (2-3, 0-1).

LITTLE ROCK CENTRAL 16, NORTH LITTLE ROCK 2 Central (8-0, 1-0 6A-Central) scored eight runs in the fifth inning to break the game open. Luke Lorence picked up the win on the mound for Tigers, who also got three hits and three RBI from Coe Griffin. Cam Russey, Chase Cozart and Justin Young all contribute­d two hits in the victory. Russey clubbed a home run as well.

ROSE BUD 12, BRADFORD 2 Bryce Walls threw 5 innings, had 11 strikeouts and walked 3 in a rout for Rose Bud (3-3). Maddox Hampton ended with two hits, and Nick Golla had three RBI for the Ramblers. Jay Bell and Calan England each had two RBI as well. Noah Anderson finished with two hits for Bradford (0-4).

SOFTBALL

CABOT 12, VILONIA 2 Allee Autry and Payton Nicholson both smacked home runs as Cabot (7-0) routed the Lady Eagles in nonconfere­nce action and stayed unbeaten on the season.

CONCORD 7, VIOLA 3 Kately Cornett and Ashlyn Cossey both had three hits in a win for Concord (3-0, 2-0 1A-2). Lexi Cannon drove in a pair of runs while Brianna McPike struck out 7 and gave up 8 hits in 7 innings for the Lady Pirates. Haylee Crotts and Joey Harber each tallied two hits for Viola (1-1, 0-1). Crotts also struck out six batters for the Lady Longhorns.

MOUNT VERNON-ENOLA 17, WHITE COUNTY CENTRAL 0 Ashleigh Sprague was 2 for 2 with 3 runs driven in in a shutout for Mount Vernon-Enola (1-0, 1-0 2A-2). Ally Mendoza had two hits as well for the Lady Warhawks.

QUITMAN 6, IZARD COUNTY 1 Dakota Rhodes and Emma Fenley had two hits apiece as Quitman (3-2, 1-1 2A-2) outscored the Lady Cougars. Sadie Poole and Paislee Davis both had a hit for the Lady Bulldogs. Fenley and Chloe Liles each has six strikeouts apiece as well.
