BARBARA ANN (RABB) BOWDEN,

of Little Rock, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on June 20, 1949, in Monroe, La., she was the cherished daughter of William Roy Rabb and Martha Ann (Collins) Rabb. A devout Methodist, Barbara found solace and strength in her faith from a young age, remaining steadfast in her devotion throughout her life. She was a member of St. James United Methodist in Little Rock. Barbara was a graduate of Russellvil­le High School, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University. Her thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a master’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 1978, a testament to her dedication to education. Barbara served as a devoted second grade teacher at the esteemed Williams Magnet Elementary School in Little Rock. Her passion for teaching was evident in her unwavering commitment to her students, earning her the prestigiou­s Teacher of the Year award from the Little Rock School District during her career. Her impact on the lives of countless children and colleagues are remembered fondly. In 1995, Barbara found love and companions­hip with Danny A. Bowden, whom she married on June 10 in Little Rock. Together, they shared a passion for travel, dancing, concerts, and music. Barbara found joy in riding her quarter horses and nurturing foals, finding serenity in the presence of these magnificen­t animals. Barbara’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, especially her students. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and unwavering faith. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Danny A. Bowden, of Little Rock; two sons: James Matthew Martin (Mandy), of Little Rock, and Jason Chad Bowden (Emily), of Henderson, Nev.; and granddaugh­ter, Sadie Mae Bowden. The family request memorial donations be made to St. James United Methodist Church Missions Fund, 321 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Ark., 72212.
