DOWNTOWN ADVOCATE
Jonathan Nunn wears many hats in downtown Little Rock. He is the director of information security for Bank of England Mortgage, a board member for the Historic District Commission, a volunteer for the Downtown Little Rock Partnership and the owner of Klassik Entertainment, and he serves on a few other boards and commissions.
In 2006, Nunn moved to Little Rock, where he attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and started Klassik Entertainment to DJ for parties, clubs and other events.
“Once I graduated, I continued to DJ on nights and weekends, at which point in time, around 2013, I invested a little more heavily in it,” Nunn said. “I started actually participating in [Arkansas DemocratGazette Wedding Shows]. So it’s just been a passion project of mine. I enjoy working as a DJ. It blends my technology background and my love of music and gadgetry.”
Nunn said he joined the Historic District Commission because he saw an opportunity to advocate for the improvement of the area and wanted representation as an entrepreneur.
Seeing the success in areas such as SoMa and the East Village made Nunn want to be a part of the continuing push to develop downtown neighborhoods.
“My goal was just to get involved,” Nunn said. “I want to advocate, and I want to make sure [development] continues to happen.”
Nunn said things he enjoys about working downtown are the walkability, energy and accessibility the area offers.
“I like the proximity to all the great restaurants,” Nunn said. “I like being able to grab a quick lunch with some colleagues and go to happy hour with business associates.”
