SEARCY — Andra Joyner, “Sassy,” 54, of Searcy, Ark.,

-

passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, after a long battle with colon cancer. She was born June 20, 1969, in Searcy, the daughter of John and Carolyn Williams. She graduated from Searcy High School with the class of 1987. She met the love of her life, Robert Joyner, in junior high school, and later, married him on November 8, 1997. They were blessed with three children. Andra put her heart and soul into her small business, The Sassy Stitch, which she operated with her mother for 17 years before her illness, when she subsequently sold to her daughter. She cherished getting to see her little customers grow up and she considered her customers part of her family. Andra was loved by all and always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Her cancer journey was never easy, but she said from day one that she was going to be strong and beat it. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost, and was her children’s biggest cheerleader. She treasured and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Sassy” to her precious grandchildren. The memories made within the last two years were the best. She made the most out of every day she had. Her middle name should have been “GO” because she always wanted to be doing something. Among her favorite trips were cruises, especially with her extended family. Andra was preceded in death by her father, John Williams; her grandparents, Albert and Daisy Williams, and Casey and Annie Laura Kirk; her in-laws, Gerald and Angela Joyner; five uncles, three aunts, and one great-niece. She is survived by her husband, Robert Joyner, of Searcy; her parents, Carolyn and Martin Ausburn; her children, Hayden (Paige), Rainey, and Lauren, all of Searcy; her twin brother, and his wife, Allen and Danna Williams, of Jonesboro; and her grandchildren, Collins and Baker. She is also survived by two aunts, one uncle, seven nephews, three nieces, six great-nephews, two great-nieces, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

The whole staff at White County Oncology held a special place in her heart. Dr. Ryan Koch went above and beyond for Andra. She would come home with such good things to say, especially about her favorite nurse, Leslie. They treated her like royalty with a designated chair just for her. In her final days at Unity Health CCU, the staff prioritized her comfort as well as ours. She had peace knowing her next stop was at the gates of heaven. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation Monday, April 15, 2024, from 5-7 at Powell Funeral Home, 2602 W. Beebe Capps Expressway in Searcy. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10 a.m. at The River Church, located off of exit 48, 420 CW Road, Judsonia, Ark. Entombment to follow at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy. Arrangements are entrusted to: Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
