Dolores “Lorrie” Hermann

BRICK TWP. - Dolores “Lorrie” Hermann, 85, passed away on September 11, 2023 with her family by her side. Lorrie was born on December 16, 1937 in Perth Amboy and in 2008 moved to her home in Brick Twp. Lorrie was known for her sparkling blue eyes, her abundant heart and her endless ability to make people feel at home. For many years she opened her home on holidays for family, her many friends and strangers who were all welcome. Her love of the beach began in her early years and spent many summers in her favorite place, Long Beach Island. But her greatest love of all was her family. Lorrie loved and was fiercely protective of her entire family. Along with her husband Gary, she owned and operated the HY Tavern in Perth Amboy for almost 50 years. Many of those customers adored her and became lifelong friends.

Lorrie is survived by her children Shirley Meigh (Arthur) of Perth Amboy, Lori Jeffries of Brick, John Santos of Virginia, Victor Santos of Brick, Marie Santos (Edward) of Point Pleasant, grandchildren Daniel, Ashley, Tommy, Chelsea, great grandchildren, Daniel Jr, Billy, Dylan, her sister Bonnie Schmidt of Brick, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by husband Gary Hermann, her daughter; Sister Sharon Santos, parents; Marie and John Barrett, siblings; Robert Barrett, Joan Kelleman, and John Barrett, Jr.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, 11 AM, Sept. 19th at St. Martha’s Church, Herbertsville Rd. in Point Pleasant.
