Salvatore J. Vitale

HAZLET - Salvatore J. Vitale, 93, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Salvatore was born on December 26, 1930, in Newark, where he grew up. After marriage, Salvatore and his beloved wife, Pearl, settled in Hazlet, where they remained to raise their family together. Before his retirement, Salvatore worked as a regional Manager for Pathmark supermarkets. In his spare time, Salvatore loved reading the newspaper daily. He also enjoyed gardening and all types of outdoor housework. He loved his faithful four-legged friend, his dog, Kippy, and most of all, adored taking care of his home and beloved family. Salvatore will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Pearl Vitale, and his dear siblings, Katie D’Agostino, Chancie Ortega, Joseph Vitale, and Carmine Vitale. Salvatore is survived by his loving children, Anthony Vitale of Port Monmouth, and Virginia Connolly and her husband, Patrick, of Hazlet, his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Vitale and his wife, Paige, Patrick Connolly and his long-time girlfriend, Grace, and Nicholas Vitale and his wife, Tori, and his treasured great grandchildren, Atlas and Scout.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, January 10th from 4 to 8 PM and Thursday, January 11th from 10 to 10:45 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Hwy/Rt 35 N, Hazlet. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during visitation hours on Wednesday evening. Entombment will take place on Thursday, January 11th at approx. 11:15 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, Keyport.
