POINT PLEASANT

BEACH - Teresa Ellen Walsh (nee Vedella), 69, of Point Pleasant Beach, died after a short illness on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Lakewood, NJ.

Teresa was raised in Fort Lee and Colts Neck and had many pets, especially dogs. She was a lifelong animal lover; in the world, only her children and grandchildren were more important to her.

After graduating from Marlboro High School in 1972, Teresa began her career as a legal secretary at a prominent Red Bank law firm. In the mid-1970s, she relocated to Point Pleasant Beach and worked for Toms River, Point Pleasant, and Brick law firms. Teresa paused her legal work while raising her children. She did other jobs, including newspaper delivery, school lunch aide, and assisted-living worker, which enabled her to maximize her time with the kids. When they grew up, Teresa returned as a secretary for many years at the Robert Abrams law firm in Ocean and, most recently, at McMahon & Russell in Jackson.

Teresas predeceased by her mother, Genevieve Vedella, her mother-in-law, Helen Walsh, and her brother, Joe Vedella, predeceased her. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael; her daughter Caitlin and grandchildren Fionnuala and Tadhg; her daughter Erin and son-in-law Will Applegate; and grandchildren Genevieve, Brigid, and Natalie; and her son Brian, all of Point Pleasant Beach; her sister, Mary Vedella of Queensbury, NY; her sister, Patricia Reilly of Hertford, NC; and five nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan. Teresa’s family thanks the dedicated professionals at Monmouth South, who made every effort to save her.
