Mets’ Wright gets $138 million deal

-

All-Star third baseman David Wright and the Mets agreed to a $138 million, eight-year contract. The deal, the richest in franchise history, replaces Wright’s $16 million salary for next season and includes $122 million in new money. Wright, who turns 30 on Dec. 20, would have been eligible for free agency after next season. Wright batted .306 with 21 homers and 93 RBIs last season.

■ The Astros claimed Philip Humber off waivers from the White Sox and agreed to a one-year, $800,000 deal with the pitcher who threw a perfect game last season.

■ The Braves traded Tommy Hanson to the Angels for former closer Jordan Walden, clearing a spot in the Atlanta rotation for Julio Teheran, Randal Delgado or another young starter. Hanson was 1310 this year, setting a career high in wins, but his ERA climbed for the third straight season to a career-worst 4.48.

■ Former major leaguer Chan Ho Park announced his retirement. Park, 39, holds the MLB record for most wins by an Asian pitcher, going 124-98 with a 4.36 ERA. He was an All-Star in 2001, when he went 15-11 with a 3.50 ERA for Dodgers.

■ The Athletics acquired right-hander Chris Resop from the Pirates for minor league right-hander Zach Thornton.

■ The Orioles acquired infielder Yamaico Navarro from the Pirates for minor league pitcher Jhondaniel Medina.
