Volunteers get time off, $500 for charity

Caring

- B

Amplify has made giving back and volunteering a priority. Last year, the credit union adopted two Season for Caring families. James Ferguson was given a day out with bowling, a movie and lunch while his apartment was made over. Lloyd and Bertha Jackson and their great-grandson Kevon were given major home repairs and home furnishings.

“It gets us out into the community,” McCoy said. “We had so many more volunteers from the credit union than we could have fit in the house. It shows how we want to give back in the community.”

Amplify also gives all of its employees 40 hours of paid time off for volunteering in the commu- nity. Employees who do the full 40 hours are also given a $500 donation for their charity of choice. Each year, the credit union also recognizes those employees.

“When you hear about what people do, it makes you feel better about where you work,” McCoy said.
