Top goals: Pay attention to detail and protect the ball

Turnovers a major concern in Saturday’s 62-42 loss to UCLA.

The number of turnovers the Longhorns recorded in Saturday’s 62-42 loss to UCLA (29) tops their average for such miscues this season (22.5). In what proved to be a team effort, every Longhorn who played against the Bruins committed at least one turnover.

Texas (5-1) hopes to take better care of the basketball when it plays host to Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday.

The Horns could get a lift when shooting guard Chassidy Fussell returns. Fussell missed the UCLA game after sustaining a head injury Nov. 30 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and is listed as dayto-day.

The UCLA game exposed several Texas shortcomin­gs that might have been overlooked during the 5-0 start.
