NFL fines Falcons’ Hope $30,000

- Chris Hope was penalized for his helmet-tohelmet hit.

Strong safety Chris Hope of the Atlanta Falcons was fined $30,000 by the NFL for his helmetto-helmet hit on Giants receiver Victor Cruz.

Hope was penalized for unnecessar­y roughness on the third-quarter play during Atlanta’s 34-0 win on Sunday.

Bears: Linebacker Brian Urlacher (hamstring) will miss his third straight game Sunday at Arizona. Also, defensive tackle Henry Melton (chest) is listed as doubtful.

Bills: CEO Russ Brandon said the Bills agreed to a new 10-year lease to continue playing at Ralph Wilson Stadium. It’s a $271 million deal, of which $130 million will be used to upgraded a stadium that opened in 1973.

Broncos: Offensive lineman Chris Kuper (left ankle and migraine) missed practice and is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Browns.

Browns: Coach Pat Shurmur said wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (knee), tight end Jordan Cameron (concus- sion) and defensive back Tashaun Gipson (foot) will not travel to Denver for Sunday’s game.

Dolphins: Former Pro Bowl kicker Nate Kaeding was signed to replace Dan Carpenter, who went on injured reserve with a groin injury.

49ers: Safety Dashon Goldson was fined $21,000 for an illegal hit in Sunday’s win at New England.

■ Defensive tackle Justin Smith missed practice because of an elbow injury for the third consecutiv­e day, placing his streak of 185 consecutiv­e starts in jeopardy for Sunday night’s game at Seattle. The 49ers listed Smith as doubtful on the injury report.

Jaguars: With running back Maurice Jones-Drew missing his ninth consecutiv­e game because of a foot injury Sunday against the Patriots, Jonathan Grimes was claimed off waivers from Houston. Grimes played in nine games this season, six with the Texans and three with the Jets.

Jets: Defensive end Quinton Coples was fined $15,750 for a helmet-tohelmet hit in Monday’s loss at Tennessee.

Packers: Safety Charles Woodson (broken collarbone) and receiver Jordy Nelson (hamstring) will miss Sunday’s game against Tennessee.

Ravens: Wide receiver Anquan Boldin and cornerback Cary Williams were each fined $15,750 for unnecessar­y roughness in Sunday’s loss to Denver.

Titans: Wide receiver Kendall Wright (ribs) missed his third straight practice and isn’t expected to play Sunday at Green Bay.

■ Defensive end Antonio Smith was fined $15,750 for a helmet-tohelmet hit in Monday’s win over the Jets.

Vikings: Cornerback Chris Cook (broken right arm) will play at Houston on Sunday following a sixgame absence.
