‘Men Who Cook II’ to take on ’40s flavor

- — BASTROP ADVERTISER

The Rotary Club of Bastrop County’s “Men Who Cook II” event is Saturday at the Hyatt Lost Pines, 575 Hyatt Lost Pines Road. About 35 men in the community will don an apron to serve guests their favorite dish. The chefs represent area business owners, community leaders and a few elected officials.

Men Who Cook is a movable feast where attendees sample foods from a myriad of appetizers, main dishes, salads and desserts. This year, they have all the ingredients to create a 1940s-themed supper club with décor and music to set the tone. There will also be raffles and a live and silent auction.

Proceeds from Men Who Cook will support the Rotary Club’s many community projects and organizations. Bas- trop groups that have received support in the past are: Bastrop wildfire relief programs, Children’s Advocacy Center, Family Crisis Center Bastrop, Literacy Volunteers of Bastrop and more.

Tickets are $60 per person for open seating. All tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, and no tickets will be available at the door. Tickets can be purchased at bastroprotary.com.
