Commissioners’ final meeting of year Friday

County commissioners will have their final, and likely brief, weekly meeting of the year Friday morning.

The commissioners may vote to recommend doubling the size of the committee that oversees the Balcones Canyonland Preserve, currently composed of one county commissioner and one member of the Austin City Council. Those two members are Mayor Lee Leffingwell and Commissioner Karen Huber, whose term ends at the end of the year. The committee would have to approve the change.

The commissioners will discuss that and other items at their 10:30 a.m. meeting on the first floor of the 700 Lavaca Building in Austin.
