SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS

Some home series worth checking out at Dell Diamond this season: Friday-Monday, vs. Memphis: The St. Louis Cardinals’ always-formidable Triple-A club provides the opposition during your fifirst chance to catch the Express. Redbirds outfifielder Stephen Piscotty and teammate Marco Gonzales, a starting pitcher, are the Cardinals’ top two minor-league prospects, according to MLB.com.

May 12-15,vs. Omaha: The Storm Chasers aren’t stacked with blue-chippers like usual, but the Kansas City Royals’ farm club is the defending Pacifific Coast League champion.

May 25-28, vs. El Paso: Express fans haven’t seen a team from El Paso for 11 years, when the West Texas city lost its Texas League-based Diablos. But El Paso is back with a fun new name — the

Chihuahuas — representing the San Diego Padres. This will be their fifirst trip to Dell Diamond.

June 18-21, vs. Iowa: Third base slugger Kris Bryant should be in Wrigley Field by this time, but

shortstop Addison Russell, the No. 5 prospect in baseball, and second baseman Javier Baez are likely to be with the I-Cubs.

July 4-7, vs. Nashville: The Fourth of July game is always a sellout. The Sounds, now a farm club of the Oakland A’s, bring former Baylor fifirst baseman Max Muncy and a nice second-base prospect, Joey Wendle. Major league vet Barry Zito also is on the roster.

Aug. 27-30, vs. Las Vegas: This Mets farm club is loaded with the organization’s top three prospects: right-hander Noah Syndergaard (the No. 3- rated pitcher, according to MLB.com); catcher Kevin Plawecki; and left-hander Steve Matz. Second baseman Dilson Herrera ranks the Mets’No. 5 prospect.
