Judge in Hays County charged with DWI

Hays County Court-at-Law Judge David Glickler was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving late Tuesday night, the county’s sheriff ’s office said.
Glickler, 46, was pulled over about 11:30 p.m. by a deputy sheriff on Interstate 35 near the 213-mile marker, just south of downtown Kyle, officials said.
He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor. Glickler was booked at the Hays County Jail early Wednesday morning and was released after posting $3,000 bail.
Glickler has served as the judge of Hays County Court-at-Law No. 2 since November.
He had been arrested in 2004 after driving backwards on a one-way street in Travis County. He was convicted of reckless driving and spent one night in jail, records show.
Before being elected judge, Glickler was a special prosecutor in the state attorney general’s office and deputy division chief of the office’s white collar crime and public integrity section.
He also worked as assistant county attorney for the Williamson County attorney’s office for six years.
Glickler, who has lived in Buda for more than 10 years, did not return a phone message Wednesday seeking comment.
