The Big 12 Conference’s men’s basketball tournament will remain in Kansas City, Mo., next season while the women’s tournament will head to Oklahoma City.

The league announced future championship sites Thursday during day two of the conference’s spring meetings.

The men’s basketball tournament will remain at the Sprint Center in Kansas City through 2020. The women’s basketball tournament will be in Oklahoma City from 2017-19. The agreement was to extend the contract beyond 2016.

The baseball championship moves back to Oklahoma City from 201720. It was played in Tulsa this season.

Fifteen sites will host Big 12 championships this coming school year.

Baylor baseball update: Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw said he would like to hire a new baseball coach by the end of June. McCaw is looking to replace Steve Smith, who had been the Bears’ coach for 21 years. Smith was fired Sunday, a day after Baylor finished with its worst record since 1981. The Bears have missed the NCAA playoffs for three straight years.

McCaw wouldn’t comment about whether he was interested in Texas pitching coach Skip Johnson or whether he would consider a candidate who is not a head coach.
